I belong to the light!

I am so thankful for all of the beautiful and inspiration Christ followers on instagram… this morning on my way in, I read a post by naptime

“I almost cried at about how faithful God has been. I look in her eyes and see hope and I see HIS grace. He has given us more than I could have ever even fathomed. Sisters who are struggling with infertility or the desire to adopt…I pray you make Christ your everything and make him the greatest desire of your hearts. Oh how I mourn with you and how I know exactly how you feel. I also know the Gospel and I know God has beautiful plans for us, so we need to be obedient to his word and cling to the cross. Choose Joy friends and keep on choosing it.”

Cling to God and the bible. Lord God, THANK YOU!!! I want You and want to cling to only you!!!! HIi beautiful plans are incredible and I want nothing more than to align my wants and desires with His. Lord God, guide us!!! Keep me under your wing. Forgive my sins. I choose Joy and I choose the light because I belong to the Light!!!

valentines weekend

what a fantastic weekend!!!

valentines day was friday… came home to joshers bein all cute. he hadnt looked in the frig yet so i showed him his “will you BEER my valentine” 6 pack and he drank up. we baked pigs in blankets that we hadnt eaten for the superbowl and opened gifts while we cooked. ohhhh his card. “on a knee, your soon-to-be-husband. WHOA.” He got me honey by Marc Jacobs (smells so clean and not too sweet or old-lady-like) along with THE PROPOSAL typed out, designed and FRAMED. how thoughtful and sweet!!! Its above the stairs and its one of those things that now its there, that spotted NEEDED it! Its perfect. What a blessing Josh is. Thank you, Lord God!! I got him movie gift cards with a quote of Philipians 2 (taking interest of others over your own) because I used to say I dont like movies but if Josh wants to go to them, I will and i’ll love being alongside him! In a season of our lives that we are feeling bad about doing extra things, this was the perfect gift so we have 3 nights of tickets for us. We headed to Front Row with Denny and Joey to watch Mike and Jason. It was a lot of fun to give them their wedding invite! Fun night afterward…..!

Saturday night, Josh headed out early for Skywalk Golf and I went to Nevada to play with McCoy. Gosh was he cuddly!! He slept on my side/stomach for 2 and a half hours!! I rushed home to change quickly and head out to an undisclosed place for dinner. Barattas it was and WHOA was it amazing!!!! We started with calamari (amazingly large and amazing piping hot breading, great La George pinot noir, bread, salads with creamy garlic dressing and then pasta! Spinach and cheese tortellini with amazing chunky veggie marinara sauce for me and chicken carbonara canelloni for Joshers.) we took our time and enjoyed every single bite. It was perfect and we left feeling completely satisfied and not full. We headed back across town wanting a movie. While we were at Redbox we grabbed a mcflurry and a shamrock shake and Captain Phillips. It was a perfect night…. Josh lit a fire and the candle and we cuddled in and were in bed by 10:30 so we could head to church the next morning.

Church and back to Joshs to make quiche, blueberry muffins, and bacon! WOO! We did some little things around the house  ( i prepped our last wedding invites and josh gathered his taxes) and then headed out for errands. josephs (i bought joshs rings for $405 and they took mine to get sized and the euro shank right), mailing invites, getting cider, going to home depot and lowes for lights for my closet and a new fan for the bedroom or our bedroom. it was so fun! its just easy with josh and productive and kind and perfect. we had left hy-vee but had forgotten the cider so he rushed back and in came back out with a rose!!! a black rose!!! and an avocado and lime juice because I had wanted them but made a comment that there are some things that I just need to wait for now. so so so sweet. we made soup when we got back to his place and spent the rest of the evening online looking at honeymoons and the registry. we added lots of great things after not really touching it for the past month/since we did it. we ended the night with popcorn (from the whirley pop!) and breakfast club. Lord God, thank you for Joshela. THANK YOU.

Happiness is a way of travel, not a destination

Josh is the best travel partner…. MAN Am I excited to be his team mate and travel buddy!!!!

3 years tomorrow….

I remember wondering how he was single. not being familiar with 50th street or mi mexico. i remember sitting down before he had the chance to stand. i remember being scared of alcohol because of my accutaine. i remember going to his place. i remember being impressed by his home. i remember not being sure when we’d hang out and Id check my phone a few too many times. I remember going to Energy games, getting a hug from the back at martin sextons show at the state fair, I remember cuddling on the couch nearly every night, i remember making enchiladas at our townhouse (during a tornado warning!), i remember being on our deck, i remember being on his deck, i remember walking to 80-35 from our place, i remember going to the farmers market and bein so thankful the couple times he’d come along with me and now (2 summers later he is the one who wants to go or goes with his sisters) I remember playing chess and scrabble and puzzles, i remember grilling….. I cant wait to travel with joshers

busy lunches

Josh inspires me because he is such a man of action!

My mom asked me whether or not he donates blood because there is a shortage. I asked Josh and thee next day (when we met with our DJ and then went to The Cab in Johnston) he had already gone and donated! The inspiration was used as a boost to get so much done over lunch. Ran to the movie theater to get joshs gift card, dropped of Vivi and Kate’s valentines day card and get movie treats for part of joshs gift, went to the bank, and then dropped off the 6pack at joshs. a flexible lunch is so wonderful!!

a safe drive + fill up my tank

I am so thankful for a safe drive in (18 cars in the ditch!!!! and my gas tank was clicking down from 49 miles down to 19miles left on my tank) and the non stress of having to fill up with gas and BEING ABLE TO fill up with gas without considering my bank account. Thank you, Lord God, for supplying my channel with funds with predictability. I’ve really noticed in the last couple months, after much prayer, that I feel an extra burst of gratitude and dedication when cracking my eyes open the first time in the morning. I was beginning to feel slightly depressed and low… always searching and scheming for a reason to sleep a little longer….. get to work late…. and I prayed about it.

God provided.
like always.

God highlighted Josh who is dedicated, hard working and always. ALWAYS. goes the extra mile. I am to model that and be the same inspiration for him. We are a team and will officially be a team in 2 months (from today) and I need to him to KNOW in his core that I am reliable and it comes down to things as simple as getting up for work every morning.

God also provided a jolt of gratitude and excitement. I am blessed to be able to have a job to go to. I am blessed to have coworkers I enjoy being around. I am blessed to be safe and warm while I work. I am blessed for variety and flexibility. I am blessed with flexible lunches. I am blessed to have a fair compensation that allows me to live freely and pay off debt. God blesses me so! Thank you, Lord God.
